Sessions run for 90 minutes

EDUCATION - INFORMATION - PREVENTION
Winner of 2010 Design Institute of Australia's People Choice Award - Visual Communication
The Discovery Centre is Australia's first interactive vision and hearing education centre. There are nine innovative and interactive exhibits which takes visitors through a selection of experiences and activities simulating life with a vision or hearing impairment.
The Discovery Centre is open to bookings by schools, corporate and community groups.
School excursions for 2012 - School students years 3 to 8.
Imagine being able to take your class to the the Guide Dogs Discovery Centre, the first interactive eye and ear health education centre in Australia.
The Centre will promote the prevention of both vision and hearing loss through integrated "hands-on" activities, information, education and key health messages.
Children will also learn about the training of guide dogs for people with vision impairment.
Entry is $5.00 per student. There is no charge for teachers, SSOs or parent helpers. There is a minimum group booking cost of $60.
We can cater for up to 40 visitors a session, including accompanying adults.
Students will be given Activity Booklets, vision loss simulation glasses and a Discovery Centre ticket to use and take home after their visit.

We hold consecutive sessions aimed at two classes from one school. While one class is visiting the Discovery Centre, the other can visit another nearby excursion destination, such as the Adelaide Central Markets. Classes can then swap over from session one to session two.
There is still the option to book a single session.
Corporate and Community Groups
The Discovery Centre offers a unique opportunity to not only increase education and awareness around vision and hearing loss and the range of services on offer at Guide Dogs SA.NT, but also equips people with the skills to interact with those people with a vision or hearing loss.
Entry is $5.50 per person with a minimum group booking cost of $60.
