Orientation & Mobility Training for Adults
& Children who are Blind or Vision Impaired.
Orientation and Mobility programs are about assisting people to
travel independently and safely to a particular destination. If
you have ever been lost then you can imagine how unsettling this
might be to a person who has low or no vision. Our tertiary qualified
instructors can teach adults with vision loss how to orientate themselves
and safely move to a desired destination. Similar programs can be
developed for children with vision loss using developmental theories
which best suit the age of the child.
Specialist Assessment & Mobility Services for
People with Visual Loss due to Brain Injury or Stroke.
People who have sustained a brain injury through stroke or accident
can experience vision loss or double vision. Our specialised team
of assessors and mobility instructors will design an individual
program to maximise a personís safe mobility in the hospital,
home or community. After a stroke people sometimes need to learn
to walk again, similarly some people need to learn how to use their
visual skills again. Our programs are about providing strategies
to help you make best use of the vision you have.
