Home Boarding
WANTED: LOVING HOMES FOR TRAINING DOGS
Take a training dog into your home and heart
Our puppies need people living in specific areas of Adelaide who are able to take our training dog into their homes and hearts for about one year.
Our training dogs are picked up each weekday morning from your backyard so that they can attend Guide Dog School. They are returned each afternoon to your care.
REQUIREMENTS FOR HOME BOARDING
Ideal home boarders are people who:
- Work part-time or less
- Have a secure yard
- Are flexible about when the dog is home (sometimes they need to take days off school and they are home at weekends)
We don't mind if you have small children or another dog because the dog is already quite well trained when you receive it.
ENJOY THE BENEFITS
Home boarding is an ideal way for people to enjoy the benefits of having a dog, without the worry of how to keep it occupied during the day. The dogs are also well trained and generally well behaved.
It's fine for home boarders to take their dog on family outings, such as to the beach, shopping and so on.
All food and veterinary bills are covered by Guide Dogs SA.NT during the dog’s stay.
Anyone interested in finding out more information should email Guide Dog Services or phone 08 8203 8375.
SHORT-TERM BOARDING
We sometimes need short-term care for our dogs or puppies in a caring home environment..
Volunteer occasional boarders look after dogs and puppies on an as needed basis, sometimes over a weekend or for several weeks at a time.
Notify us through our online contact form or telephone us on 08 8203 8375 if you live in the general Adelaide area and you would be a short-term boarder.
