About the event

At Guide Dogs SA/NT we are always touched by the generosity and passion of people who organise community fundraisers to support our mission to provide safety, independence and inclusion to people living with disability.

From the humble cake stand, to concerts, fun runs and other events we thank you from our hearts.

Here’s two of the recent community events that have helped us make a difference.

Naracoorte High School student Crystal MacDermott wanted to raise awareness in her community about Guide Dogs and  because she wanted to help make a difference to the lives of people with vision loss and young children with Autism. Thanks so much Crystal for your commitment and passion. You can read Crystal’s story from the Naracoorte Herald.

Thank you also to Tammie McInerney and Caitlin Aytekin for taking on the challenge of the Stadium Stomp and stepping, sweating and smiling as you climbed all those stairs at the Adelaide Oval as the Allianz Adelaide Stompers in support of Guide Dogs.  They wanted to take part as a friend has a daughter with an Autism Assistance Dog and wanted to support the program.

Thanks also to the many people who open your hearts to support Guide Dogs in your own way.

More about how you can organise your own community fundraising event is available here.

Guide Dogs SA/NT receives just over 30% Government funding for the vital services we provide to the community and none for any of our dog services. Considering it costs in excess of $35,000 to train each Guide Dog and that the need for what we do is greater and more important than ever, so is your support.
